On average, a family will purchase or sell a home only 3-7 times in their entire lives. These may entail moves cross-town, or cross-country, or even further. And those moves happen in vastly different times, with different market conditions, and under different personal circumstances. Add to that the fact that state laws change, agency and representation regulations also change. All of those things impact the decisions the buyer or seller will have to make, and certainly those decisions can have dramatic impact on their lives. Much as we would like to believe that a move is the simple "selling" or "buying" of real estate property, and as long as we are bright enough or informed enough, it's not all that big of a deal, the fact of the matter is YOUR move IS a big deal! There are any number of things that can influence the process and your decisions along the way, some with favorable impact, and others that can turn your world inside out. When I first began my real estate career, I did so for two reasons. The first was to help support my family doing something that allowed me a flexible enough schedule that I could spend more time with my young children, and the second was to help other families through a very significant experience in their life. Experts say that a move is considered one of life's most stressful experiences (some more than others), and I've always looked at my responsibility as being to help alleviate as much of that stress as possible for the families I served. Well, it's now 25 years into that journey, and I've had the pleasure of helping many hundreds of families through the process.
